Student Overview

RSA is committed to supporting future generations of rhetoric scholars by working to keep participation in conferences and institutes as affordable as possible, awarding travel grants, funding RSA student chapters, and providing network development opportunities.

Student Resources

RSA’s annual events alternate between conferences (in even-numbered years) and institutes (in odd-numbered years). Both offer exciting intellectual opportunities for graduate students and faculty.

RSA Remote

RSA Student Chapters provide a forum for gathering locally as rhetoricians and can serve a variety of rhetoric-related functions. Many established student chapters have created or are creating rhetoric colloquia.

Student Membership

Student memberships are offered at a reduced rate and include a subscription to RSQ. Being an active member of RSA helps students become integrated into interdisciplinary conversations about rhetoric and provides access to other resources.

Chapter Directory

RSA believes that a public catalogue of the engaged work of our membership will provide models for public work, enhance collaboration, and broaden the narrative regarding the role of rhetorical study in higher education and contemporary culture.

This resource offers basic information, in a standardized format, about the growing number of student chapters for graduate and undergraduate students. It is meant to be a starting point for surveying what chapters are doing.
