Position Description
The Operations Coordinator works with the Society’s Executive Director, President, its Board of Directors, its volunteers, and its vendors to support RSA’s mission. The responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator entail two broad categories:
Marketing Responsibilities – Oversees the acquisition and management of sponsorships and advertising both in general and for specific events, and across a variety of media including the RSA website, event guidebooks, event apps and printed materials.
Membership Responsibilities – With the RSA Membership Officer, assists in coordinating RSA’s responsiveness and relationship to its membership, striving to enhance communication, services, and opportunities to benefit members and potential members of the association.
Event Responsibilities – Supports event planning and execution of RSA events.
Duties
The Operations Coordinator will:
*Develop and regularly maintain an active database of sponsorship and advertising contacts including (but not limited to) rhetoric departments and programs, university presses and other publishers, etc., keeping up to date on frequently changing personnel.
*Develop and regularly maintain relationships with potential sponsors and advertisers in the database.
*Procure sponsorship and advertising for the RSA website, RSQ, and RSA events.
*Create and promote four sponsored RSA Remote sessions per year.
*Determine the art requirements for sponsorship and advertising materials and ensure sponsors/advertisers provide appropriate artwork by required deadlines.
*Lead the production or publication of all sponsorship and advertising materials/activities.
*With the RSA Membership Officer, collect, analyze, and present information about RSA’s membership.
*Research trends in membership services in other professional associations and, when appropriate, make recommendations to RSA officers and board regarding proposed changes in RSA services.
*Communicate directly with members by pro-actively sending membership emails using MailChimp and respond to individual queries, concerns, and suggestions.
*Observe and anticipate emerging needs and concerns of members and propose initiatives or changes that will help RSA to be more responsive to them.
*Develop recruitment and retention strategies for RSA membership.
*Manage RSA event registration and event-related communication activities using both WordPress website and Google G-Suite tools.
*Create, promote, and facilitate sponsored sessions at RSA conferences.
*Assist with RSA Institute and Conference website management.
*Other duties as assigned.
Salary
This is a part-time W-2 position with a starting salary of $25/hour for up to 20 hours per week. The position also provides a $7000 annual health care stipend. This is a 100% remote position.
