A NEWSLETTER FROM THE RHETORIC SOCIETY OF AMERICA

Dear RSA Members,

Today we’re sending the November newsletter a bit earlier in the month than we usually do because we have big news:  RSA’s new website — complete with new logo — is live!

I want to thank Leslie Dinauer, RSA’s Executive Director, and member Casey Boyle for their hours of work on this project.  Many of you have provided feedback over the years for the changes you would like to see, and they listened.

The new website platform will enable different functionalities as we go, which will help all of us stay informed and engaged with RSA.  As we all start to use it, there may be some additional needs and opportunities, but for now, take some time to login and change your password; everyone needs to do so. You can click here, enter the email address you have in your RSA profile (hint: it’s the one where you received this newsletter), and click Lost Password. A few minutes later you will receive a link you can click to choose a new password and sign into your account. If your membership expires in December, now is a great time to renew there, too.  Josh Miller, our new Membership Officer, will also be writing soon with a reminder about renewals and new memberships.

One important area on the website is still necessarily under development: the Events page, which should be more robust within one month as we roll out more information about the 2024 Conference in Denver.  In addition to the 2024 conference program, it will feature links to registration, hotel information, and even a new event registration section for local and chapter events separate from the conference. So stay tuned as we get that information loaded up over the next several weeks.

Last, if you are planning to attend NCA in a few weeks, take note of the two RSA-sponsored sessions, both to be held on Thursday, November 16: The Bright Future of Rhetorical Studies and RSA at 2–3:15, featuring our 2023 Dissertation Award winners, and Meet the Editors: Rhetoric Society Quarterly at 3:30–4:45, both in room National Harbor 15 on the Convention Center 2nd Floor.

Sincerely,
Vanessa B. Beasley
RSA President
