RSA 2022 Research Network Forum Call for Applications

Invitation to Apply For the RSA 2022 Research Network

Applications are now being accepted for the Sixth Biennial RSA 2022 Research Network Forum, which will be held in-person on Thursday May 26th, 2022 at the RSA Conference in Baltimore, Maryland. It will begin with lunch provided for all participants; food preferences and meal location will be arranged in advance and follow all relevant health and safety guidance.   The conference itself will kick-off immediately following the Research Network with a reception, open to all attendees. See below for a list of senior scholars who are scheduled to lead sessions.

The Research Network provides newer members of our profession, especially graduate students and new faculty, with an opportunity to receive feedback on work-in-progress in a small group session led by senior scholars. We especially encourage advanced graduate students, recent graduates, and beginning assistant professors whose circumstances allow them limited mentorship opportunities to apply this year. Whatever your professional situation, the Research Network is a wonderful opportunity to engage some of the field’s best mentors, improve your writing and argumentation, and strengthen your connections to rhetorical studies.

Please find the application linked here. The deadline to apply is February 15, 2022. You do not have to send in a completed work-in-progress to apply. If accepted, you will be contacted by RSA in March and then receive a subsequent message from your group leader asking you to share your work around mid-April. Each participant will be expected to read and be prepared to discuss the drafts of all participants in their group. Senior scholars may also provide further instructions and group deadlines for the session as the conference approaches.

Please also note that the names of participants in the Research Network will be published in the conference program. Therefore, graduate student participants in the Research Network will be eligible to apply for partial conference funding; please see the conference registration form for more details. You must be a member of RSA and register for the conference to attend the Research Network. You may join at any time.

If you have any questions, or if the application link does not work for you, please contact RSA Executive Director Leslie Dinauer at
