Announcing the 2018 RSA Conference Mobile Application

Casey Boyle and I are very excited to inform you that under his direction and labor, the RSA 18th Biennial Conference App is available for download. This mobile application will provide conference attendees up-to-the-minute schedules, personalized session lists, in-app social message interaction, and valuable information about conference events.

To download this application, follow this link to the Apple App Store or search "2018 RSA Conference." For Android, follow this link to the Google Play store or search for "RSA 18th Biennial Conference." Note that this app will show up in a listing for phone Applications but perhaps not for tablet/iPad applications.
When you download the app, you will be prompted to create a profile. This profile will enable you to post to the ACTIVITY STREAM (an in-app public posting stream) with text about or images from the conference. Using the app will not require a profile, but participating in the Activity Stream will. Also, this profile is not linked or related to your RSA Membership or Conference Submission profiles. You will need a new ID and password to create the mobile app profile.
To peruse the proceedings and plan your conference experience, users can scroll through the SCHEDULE to view panels, speakers, and titles and, in some cases, abstracts of panels. Users may also scroll through a list of SPEAKERS (these are separate from User Profiles) to see when, where, and what a speaker will be speaking at the conference. You can STAR a speaker/panel, listing that speaker/panel in your app’s FAVORITES for easy reference (an alert can also be created for these favorites).
The rest of the app is fairly intuitive. There is a VENUE MAP (a 2-page PDF for viewing the conference room locations) as well as a CITY MAP which can be used for finding one’s way about the downtown area. RSA NEWS will update you on recent news posted to the RSA website and the RSA WEBSITE will provide access for consulting the site without leaving the app. Finally, there is a TWITTER tab in which you can view the RSA’s twitter stream as well as any other tweet that uses the conference hashtag #RSA50. You will not need a twitter account to view these feeds but would need one if you wanted to respond to any messages you find on it.

For those of you who have neither the desire nor the hardware for a mobile app, a professionally designed print version of our conference program will be available on-site when you pick up your tag and complementary bag. A simplified PDF version of the program will remain online at the website, as well.

As of today it is impossible to alter further the print version of our program. The online PDF version will be updated for another 10 days, but after that point only the mobile version will reflect changes to the conference schedule.
Thanks again to Casey for developing this program option. I hope that you find it useful.
