RSA 2018 Convention ... Updates
Hello RSA Members,
I want to add my congratulations to the newly elected members of the RSA Advisory Board. Serving the Rhetoric Society of America is one of the most rewarding experiences of my career thus far. I hope they will feel the same.
And speaking of service, we continue to move steadily toward the 2018 biennial conference in Minneapolis.
- A revised version of the conference program has been uploaded to the RSA website, 2018 Program Draft (April 17).
- A third hotel, The Marquette, is now available for attendees who have not yet found lodging. Click Here to book directly online [https://secure3.hilton.com/en_US/qq/reservation/book.htm?inputModule=HOTEL&ctyhocn=MSPCUQQ&spec_plan=RSA618&arrival=20180530&departure=20180603&cid=OM,WW,HILTONLINK,EN,DirectLink&fromId=HILTONLINKDIRECT]. If prompted, enter the code RSA618 to make your reservation. If you prefer to speak with a person, phone 612-333-4545 and mention "RSA Biennial Conference" to get a conference rate of $139.00 per night.
- Menus for various receptions and the celebration of our 50th anniversary are almost finalized.
- Presentations and papers are under development by RSA members.
- The programing for pre-conference workshops is almost complete.
- Minneapolis is digging out of yet another snow storm in preparation for our arrival, which should coincide with the start of . . . Spring, Summer, Fall? At this point, I've decided to stop worrying about the weather and simply embrace the truths of "now."
If you have not registered for the conference, please do so. CLICK HERE to complete your registration!. You can register at the conference, but registering early allows us to plan with greater precision and it will save you the time of waiting in line, etc. Not sure if you have already registered? You can log on to the Members area and view your registrations or send Kathie Cesa, rsa@kocmemberservices.com, a note and she will check for you.
Keep up the good work, everyone. Winter will soon pass and we can all assemble in Minneapolis for a well deserved break. Can't wait to see you there.
