As previously announced, Jerry Hauser, who has served the Society with distinction for multiple decades, and during the past six years, as our Executive Director will be retiring from the position, effective January 2021. Please follow this link to review the original announcement.
As a result of a rigorous national search, we have appointed Leslie Dinauer to assume this important role.
Leslie Dinauer is a proven professional recognized for her ability to innovate organizations and inspire people. Her unique talents in program development are supported by her strengths in strategic planning, policy design and team enablement.
In her most recent position at University of Maryland Global Campus, Dinauer led academic, career-relevant graduate programs for professionals. She was responsible for establishing vision, providing strategic direction, and leading change in a total redesign of the institution’s learning model, an effort for which she received UMGC’s prestigious “Champion of Change” award. Prior to joining UMGC, Dinauer was Managing Principal for Envisage, a communication consulting firm in the greater Washington, DC area.
Dinauer’s roles also include a history of successful association leadership. Currently she is Trustee and Chair-Elect for the University of Wisconsin Union Association where she is dedicated to serving the interests of 90,000 lifetime Union members including students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Previously she was an officer on the Board of the Executive DBA Council and spearheaded the organization’s development toward becoming a sustainable non-profit.
Dinauer holds a PhD in Communication from University of Maryland College Park, MA from American University, and BA from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
